The final stage of the Wild Mersey mountain bike track network will be built by South Australian trail building company Trailscapes.

The Advocate Newspaper has reported that the contract for the third stage, which involves the development of 55 kilometres of mountain bike trail in the Badgers Range between Railton and Sheffield, was awarded by the Kentish Council at last week's meeting.

Trailscapes are the builders of the Railton Express, the Green Hornet and the Railton pumptrack.

The construction program were planned to see some trails open for riders in time for the 2020 summer holiday period, including the important link to the existing trail network via Railton, however this may now be affected by COVID-19 restrictions.
