The Snug to Margate cycleway was officially opened on 12 December 2018.
According to the Mercury, the idea for the shared path came out of community consultation in 2012 and it received $534,000 in funding from the State Government.
The 7.5 kilometre path stretches from Jarvis Road in Snug to Parish Lane in Margate mostly alongside the existing highway.
