Come join the Hobart City Council Bishcare team for their 3rd successful mountain-bike track building session on the Tip Top track, South Hobart. The previous one on Saturday 12 April was a really positive, successful day. 21 wonderful volunteers joined the team of 3 Council staff members and completed:
• 130m full bench construction
• 10m2 paving/pitching
• ~130m rehabilitation of old alignment
The team is expanding rapidly and achieving impressive results. So be a part of it!
So come along on Saturday 10 May, get your hands dirty and play an active part in creating a mountain bike track tailored to your needs as a rider. Catch up with old friends and enjoy a BBQ lunch to celebrate your achievements.
When? Saturday 10th May 2014 @ 8:45am (for a 9:00am start) to 1pm (we’ll keep going after the BBQ if most people are keen)
Where? Top section of the Tip Top Track, South Hobart (specific location to be advised when you RSVP)
What? Playing in the dirt building new sections of mountain bike track, upgrading existing sections of track and enjoying a BBQ lunch after all the hard work is done and dusted.
*What to bring? A sturdy pair of work boots (steel-cap preferred), long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, hat, drinking water, and plenty of enthusiasm for building and maintaining some sweet singletrack in the South Hobart hills.
This is the third of three track building events to be held on the upper Tip Top track. Due to popular demand we will have a 4th event on Sunday 25 May (not 24th as previously advertised). To express your interest this date let us know on the contact details above.
Spread the word, share the love of sweet singletrack and hope to see you there!
* As there are kids and people swinging heavy mattocks, please leave your pooch at home!
