Margate to Huntingfield Shared Pathway Consultation Process - November 2022

The Tasmanian Government, along with Kingborough Council, is funding a feasibility study to help identify a preferred route for a proposed shared pathway to connect the suburbs of Margate and Huntingfield.

The proposed path would improve access and connection with existing off-road paths and encourage active transport in the area, by providing an alternative to the Channel Highway as a route between Margate and Huntingfield.

The route put out for consultation runs from near the Antarctic Division down the Coffee Creek Trail through the Peter Murrel Reserve before winding around the North West Bay Golf Club, crossing the highway via an overpass and then running along the inland side of the highway to near Brookfield before crossing the road once more and skirting into margate along the border of the current agricultural land and entering Margate via the footpath between 34 and 36 Beach Road.

Submissions closed on 9 November 2022, but as of the time of publication you can still view the route and feedback at this link.
